Introduction

Founded in 2011 in Bucharest, Romania, CyberGhost is the creator of one of the world’s most reliable privacy and security solutions in the world. CyberGhost defends privacy as a basic human right, being the first in the industry to publish a transparency report while building new user-oriented crypto-technology for the future.

I supported CyberGhost by creating a brand identity that’s as flexible as their services, repositioning them to expand their market share, attract talent, and introduce groundbreaking services and software to a new audience.

The challenge

In the centre of the digital universe, there is a product. Everything begins with it, and all the attention is focused on it. My goal at CyberGhost VPN was to make the site user-friendly, this way conversions will increase and the users will have all the necessary informations directly accessible.

Minimum action brings maximum result. A user should look at the content and act immediately, without asking “what, where and how”. No distracting details, just a product and a clear description.

Scope of work

1 -  How might we create a unified software suite that presents a modern brand experiences that appeals to a younger audience?

2  -  How might we find a balance in presenting their software and hardware solutions?

3  -  How might we make our brand more appealing to talented developers and staff?

Process &
user flows

To better understand the needs of these customers, I created unique user profiles to represent the range of users. This painted a clear picture of their demographics, psychographics, needs and wants. Through a series of exercises in the strategy session, I was able to extract and refine the key pillars of the brand.

In this project, I have minimised all possible actions the users have to perform to achieve their goals. We cut-off the extra functions and only left the necessary ones. Every action of a user is effort and time. That’s why I wanted to create a simple and clean experience for the users and immediately give them everything they need.

When UX
meets UI

Focusing both on best user experience and online security. I translated the brand’s new language into a website as dynamic and colourful as the product itself. The website is responsive by design and easily scales to work on any kind of screen, anywhere you go. It’s a memorable page for a VPN app you won’t easily forget. The website is intuitive and easy to use on mobile devices.
